Faculty/Mentor Program for EOP Students
Winter & Spring 2003
Applications are available at the EOP Office, Room 121 at the Academic Resources Center (ARC, formerly the Student Center). Deadline to apply is NOVEMBER 15 by 4:00 PM (date extended).
This is a two quarter intensive academic program that prepares students for future graduate study at the Master's and Doctoral level.
*Offers students hands-on research opportunity under the direction of a faculty sponsor
*Offers a series of workshops on the graduate school application process
*Provides an overview of research methodologies
*Encourages collaborative learning
ELIGIBILITY
*EOP students in the arts, humanities and social science majors
*Sophomores (who have taken core course work within their major), juniors and seniors who do not plan on applying to graduate school until the 2004 cycle
*Must be in good academic standing
*Students with an interest in pursuing graduate study

ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES
Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts invites applications for a new tenure-track position in Linguistics to begin in the Fall of 2003.
Stanford University is advertising for an Assistant Professor in the Linguistics Department to start September 1, 2003.

UC Davis has launched a major initiative in creating a Center for Mind and Brain and has a junior faculty position opening in cooperation with the Department of Linguistics to begin July, 2003.

The Department of Linguistics at the University of Kansas, Lawrence anticipates hiring an Assistant Professor to teach Phonology beginning August, 2003.
