Ling 102: Phonology Two

This course is a sequel to Phonology I and an introduction to prosodic phonology and morphology, which ends with a brief introduction to Optimality Theory. Phonological description and analysis of linguistic data will be the core of the course, but we will also be investigating some basic questions regarding the adequacy of the theory and the formalism employed.

Prerequisites: Ling 101 (Phonology One)
